Training Opportunities Available to Supporting Services Staff

A number of trainings are available and open to supporting services professionals. Register for these learning opportunities on PDO and search for the course number. These professional learning opportunities will be offered online via Zoom.

5 Steps to Getting Started in Google (Course #87353)

This course provides participants with basic understanding of the primary functions of five Google applications: Google Drive, Google Docs, Google Slides, Google Forms, and Google Sheets. This course will be held from 4:30–6:30 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 7.

Introduction to Excel (Course #87043)

This instructor-led course provides basic knowledge to use Excel, such as how to open and close an Excel workbook; identify how to read and use the ribbon and status bar; input and manipulate data, etc. This course is designed for beginners. It will be held from 4:30–6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 10.

Essentials of Word (Course #85435)

This instructor-led course covers the essential skills needed to create documents, manipulate text, apply bold, italics, underline and other attributes; change line spacing, margins, headers, and footers; and insert page numbers. This course will be held from 4:30–6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 15.

Computer Training for Beginners (Course #85892)

This class is for staff members who have little or no experience using a computer. Learn the basics of using a computer; how to use Outlook to send and receive messages; create, save, send and open an attachment, and other basic components of Outlook email. Participants will also learn to navigate the web with an emphasis on accessing MCPS website features. There will be two separate sessions offered for this course (Note: you only need to attend one session). This course will be held from 4:30–6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 9 and Thursday, Dec. 17.
