Advanced Communication Skills that Foster Collaboration and Teamwork (Course #90490)
This practical presentation will cover several key interpersonal skills that help strengthen workplace relationships, including learning to focus the needs of others, how to respond instead of react during conflict, and ways to amicably resolve disagreements. This course will be held from 9–11 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 9 via Zoom.
5 Steps to Getting Started in Google (Course #87353)
This interactive course provides participants with basic understanding of the primary functions of five Google applications: Google Drive, Google Docs, Google Slides, Google Forms and Google Sheets. This course will be held from 4:30–6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 10 via Zoom.
Computer Training for Beginners (Course #85892)
This class is designed for staff members who have little or no experience using a computer. Learn the basics of a computer; how to use Outlook to send and receive messages; create, save, send and open an attachment, and other basic components of Outlook email. Participants will also learn to navigate the web with an emphasis on accessing MCPS website features. This course will be held from 4:30–6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 11 via Zoom.
Proofreading (Course #50736)
Participants will be able to supplement basic knowledge of grammar and punctuation. Learn practical methods for proofreading and editing to improve skills and reduce errors. Note: This class is designed as a refresher for office workers and other clerical support staff; it is not intended to teach basic English language grammar and/or punctuation. This course will be held in-person from 9 a.m.–4 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 12 in Training Room 3F (3rd floor) at the Upcounty Regional Services Center, 12900 Middlebrook Road in Germantown.
Intermediate Excel (2 days) (Course #87044)
This course is for the more experienced user of Excel. This is an instructor-led course that will teach advanced components of Excel, including formulas and functions, multi-sheet workbooks, analyzing data and V Look Up. This course will be held from 4:30–6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 16 and Thursday, Nov. 18 via Zoom.
Workplace Etiquette and Professionalism (Course #54220)
Participants will examine the behaviors that demonstrate professionalism in any workplace and the rules of etiquette that foster positive workplace relationships. This course will be held from 9–11 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 17 via Zoom.
