Training Opportunities Open for Supporting Services Staff
The Office of Human Resources and Development is holding four training opportunities for supporting services employees in February and March.
School Finance Training—Part 1, Monday, Feb. 3, 8:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m., Upcounty Regional Services Center, Room 3F. This class provides an overview of school finance, including funding sources; roles and responsibilities; administration of Independent Activity Funds (IAF); chart of accounts, receipts and disbursements; bank reconciliations and audits. 5 Steps to Getting Started in Google, Wednesday, Feb. 5, 9 a.m.–noon, 15 W. Gude Dr., Room 337A. This interactive course provides participants with a basic understanding of five Google applications: Google Drive, Google Docs, Google Slides, Google Forms and Google Sheets. Participants will learn to organize their drive, create presentations using Google Slides, collect information using Google Forms, and organize and analyze reports using Google Sheets. Course #86622
School Finance Training—Part 2, Monday, March 2, 8:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m., Upcounty Regional Services Center, Room 3F. This class covers cash handling; IAF procedures and guidelines related to field trips; fundraisers, ticket sales, yearbook and school store; bank reconciliations; Centralized Investment Fund (CIF); and resources to support the work of school financial agents. School Finance Workshop for Aspiring Financial Agents, Wednesday, March 4, 9 a.m.–noon, Upcounty Regional Services Center, Room 3F. School financial agents are principals, school business administrators, school financial specialists, elementary school administrative secretaries and others involved in the handling in IAF.
